The position
As our new Competitive Intelligence Lead, you will join a team of highly skilled and motivated individuals who are responsible for monitoring and providing insights on Novo Nordisk’s key competitors within the rare disease space.
Your tasks will include:
• Monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on new competitor activities
• Generating data-driven impact assessments and insights to support project decisions and strategy development
• Participating in Global Project Teams and providing an external perspective to ensure the competitiveness of Novo Nordisk’s pipeline of assets and in-market products
• Participating in and reporting from key scientific congresses throughout the year
Daily, you will work with a diverse network of internal colleagues from across the value chain, including Research, Development, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Marketing, and Product Supply. In this position, you should have a clear understanding of the level of quality and commitment required to succeed. You will work in a global context but interact primarily with headquarters functions. You will report to the Vice President of Insights & Portfolio Strategy – Rare Disease. You should expect approximately 10% travel throughout the year.
Qualifications
You will be a great asset to our team because you have:
• An academic degree in science, business-related field, or a background in public health, preferably at master’s level or above
• Previous experience in competitive intelligence, R&D, medical affairs, medical science, or commercial marketing would be beneficial.
• Extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry is essential
• Natural interest in the latest scientific and technological advancements in the pharmaceutical industry
• Fluency in written and spoken English
• The ability to communicate complex scientific concepts in a simple and clear manner
You are a team player, with a high degree of flexibility and outstanding stakeholder management and presentation skills. The ideal candidate has experience working within the rare disease space (ideally but not necessary).
About the department
Insights & Portfolio Strategy – Rare Disease is part of the Novo Nordisk Rare Disease organization. Through our work with Research, Development, and colleagues in Marketing, we help set the commercial direction for Novo Nordisk’s future drug portfolio. In our team, you will be joining 12 other experienced business professionals like yourself, who are proud to be guiding the long-term commercial success of Novo Nordisk.
As part of our Competitive Intelligence responsibilities, we assess the impact of competitor activities on Novo Nordisk, and we support corporate and brand strategies as well as pipeline projects with analyses of the competitive environment within our rare disease areas of interest. We monitor competitor activities and interact with a broad set of internal stakeholders across the value chain. We capture key trends and insights and manage a comprehensive platform of competitive insights to support and impact decisions at project, portfolio, and corporate levels.
