The Danish Medicine Agency is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Scientist. In this role, you will play a crucial part in our advanced research and analytical efforts within the medical and pharmaceutical sectors.

About the Danish Medicines Agency

The Danish Medicines Agency is a part of the Ministry of Health and the Interior and we are the authority for authorisation and monitoring of medicinal products, including vaccines, and of medical devices as well as administration of the pharmacy structure. Our mission is effective, safe and available medicinal products and medical device for the benefit of patients and society.

We take part in both European and international collaborations and it is one of our goals to enhance our international impact in relevant fields to improve the frameworks for development and use of medicinal products and medical device.

About the Division

The Division consists of approximately 17 colleagues, who perform analyses in relation to the efficacy and safety of medicinal products. We also participate in development projects in Denmark and in Europe to develop the use of raw data and real-world evidence in relation to medicinal products and medical device. The Division is also engaged in the agency’s focus on the use of data and of new technology, i.e. AI and machine learning, in our case handling. English is the primary professional language in the Division, though the majority of colleagues are also Danish speaking.

Key Responsibilities:

Analyze large and complex datasets to extract meaningful insights. Manage data effectively, ensuring its accuracy, security, and accessibility. Develop and implement statistical models and machine learning algorithms. Handle and maintain the data platform, ensuring its optimal performance and reliability. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support data-driven decision-making. the latest advancements in AI, data science, and related technologies. Convey the results of the analyses Essential Qualifications:

Proficiency in programming languages, especially R and Python. Strong expertise in Linux operating systems. Extensive knowledge in statistics, machine learning, data modeling, and data science. Demonstrated experience in applying AI techniques professionally. Ability to interpret and visualize data to effectively communicate complex ideas to both colleagues and collaborators. Preferred Qualifications:

PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field. Experience from the medical or pharmaceutical industry or within the academic research About the employment

You will be hired according to the current agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations.

Starting date of employment is expected 1. April 2024.

It is a precondition for employment at the Danish Medicines Agency that you do not own stocks, within the medical or pharmaceutical industry.
