Are you ready to lead your own project? We’re looking for a Machine Data Analyst trainee for our Giant Leap program – a project-based internship in our HQ in Vantaa. As a Machine Data Analyst you will help us to identify use cases, collect and utilize data produced in Vaisala’s production machines and equipment as part of the Smart Factory -team. As a Giant Leaper, you will get your own project to lead for three months, starting in June.

Giant Leap is a unique opportunity for you to be the project manager of your own project, with the support of your teammates and project supervisor. What will your summer look like?

You’ll help identify use cases for machine data produced by factory machines and equipment. Based on use cases (data utilization, dashboards, predictability etc.), data availability and quality will be analyzed. You will also help build a catalog for available data. We expect new use cases to be identified for machine data utilization, data catalog, and data quality analysis, as well as concepts created for new dashboards.

Lots of data is produced daily in Vaisala’s factories. We want to utilize this data more and use advanced analytics for increasing transparency, efficiency, and predictability. As a high-tech company, intelligent use of data is at the core of Vaisala’s Smart Factory operations, enabling us to scale our high mix/low volume production and improve our daily operational efficiency as well as quality.

During the summer, you will learn how world-leading industrial and weather measurement technology is manufactured, as well as how technology and data will change manufacturing.

You will work as part of the Smart Factory -team, consisting of professionals in automation, software & data architecture, and software development. You can count on our support and relaxed work atmosphere

Work is located in our HQ in Vantaa. Remote working is possible; however, your nice colleagues will make you want to come to the office

What kind of skillset are we looking for?

• You have studies and potentially some work experience in the field of (industrial) data or automation.

• You have an analytical mindset and a strong interest in data. Preferably, you also have some experience with analytical tools and technologies.

• You are eager to learn new and open to new challenges. You see opportunities instead of problems, and you are in your comfort zone in interacting with different kinds of people and teams.
