This is an exciting opportunity for you to be part of the Global Finance (GF) section in NRC (Flyktninghjelpen). Global Finance is responsible for the development and operationalization of the Centre of Excellence for financial management and processes in NRC.
What we are looking for
NRC is seeking a highly technical Global Finance Adviser to be part of a team of finance specialists based in NRC’s Head Office, working globally providing expertise regarding financial management, policies, procedures, systems and tools.
What you will do
Some of your generic responsibilities include: Responsible for the development of policies and strategies related to financial management, risk management, budgeting and funds management. Responsible for the technical development of financial management systems, procedures and tools to ensure a leading role in the sector and accountability to donors and beneficiaries. Responsible for the provision of capacity development through seminars, trainings, coaching and support along the technical reporting lines to Head Office (HO), Regional and Country offices. Responsible for compliance monitoring related to the application of and follow-up on finance procedures, management and tools across the organisation. Responsible for the representation of NRC at technical negotiations with donors related to financial systems, procedures and tools. Responsible for providing analysis of financial data and development of recommendations to senior management.
Some of your specific responsibilities include: Taking lead in the development, testing, roll-out/implementation and support on the financial tools and various Unit4 modules (Finance, Procurement) throughout the organisation. Hereunder contributing to ensuring that the NRC’s Unit4 solutions meet the needs and requirements and is used effectively. Train and support on technical aspects related to Unit4, excel and Power BI. Be the technical lead in new financial tools and system developments in the unit. Responsible for providing financial systems and tools support to Regional and/or Country offices upon request. Responsible for further developing the organisation’s guidance and culture on cost consciousness/cost efficiency, in close cooperation with other personnel in the Global Finance team and Field Operations. What you will bring Comprehensive educational background and working knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures in relation to accounting, financial controls, procedures, financial management and financial information systems. Ideally minimum 3 years of relevant Manager/Adviser experience within financial management, preferably within the humanitarian field. Advanced knowledge and experience with Unit4 Agresso or other similar ERP-systems. Advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft Excel and Unit4 Excelerator, including extensive experiences with macro programming and VBA /or similar languages scripting Strong numeracy and analytical skills. Experience in guiding and training financial managers and controllers. Able to work independently, run processes and deliver timely end-results of good quality. Relevant experience within the humanitarian and/or development field is an advantage. Fluency in English, both written and verbal. Knowledge of French, Spanish and/or Arabic is an advantage.
