What we’re looking for in our Site Manager: Experience in Data Centres Experience with Copper and Fibre network Cabling Working full time on building sites and working with General Contractors Experience, this is crucial to this project, for engineers who have not had experience working with me prior to this contract. Minimum 5 years Data Centre experience preferred. Extensive knowledge of high end supplier’s materials, such as Corning, Exel Krone, patch panels, cabling (fibre and Copper) along with all cabinet makes, models and sizes. Needs a through working knowledge of structured cabling and also optical fibre infrastructure, Cable connectors. Up to date with the latest industry codes and standards, including CDM and Health & Safety regulations. Importantly they should be able to implement the cabling works in accordance to Cabling Infrastructure standards and specifications. Bandwidth understanding, for example bandwidths for specific cabling and lengths, SFP Knowledge ect. Fault find, clean and test optical fibre links in accordance with cabling standards and also all industry standards. Responsible for the checking of all documentation such as cut-sheets for connectivity patching and also that all site operatives have the relevant and latest floor plans for the project works. Site technicians must be able to follow detailed patching schedules and correctly label all cabling installed. Setting up of all test equipment in accordance with specific cabling standards. Have all PPE, Hi-vis,hard hat ,goggles, gloves and data center compliant boots (not steel toe-cap as this interferes with the alarms on site.) Tooling, terminating equipment, and where possible OTDR and LSPM, depending on rates. Any Certification you have for MEWP, H&S, and Cabling Documentation an advantage.
