Job Purpose
To deliver technically robust pipeline product and materials solutions to TechnipFMC projects / operational teams globally. Under the direction of the PMM Technical Manager, the Principal Engineer will fulfil this objective in three key operational areas: Engineering support, where the primary objective of the work is to deliver expert support to regional project teams during the FEED, tender and execution phases of a project Technology development, where the primary objective of the work is to deliver new pipeline product materials technologies to the group, and to advise on related challenges around new products which are being developed for the group by the PMM team Engineering consolidation, where the primary objective of the work is to deliver standardised PMM-related engineering practices, tools, standards and specifications across the group
Job Description
Contribute to team development through coaching of junior and senior engineers and generating new ideas with colleagues Ensure the quality of work issued is high and conforms to RP&IT and Group procedures Promote TechnipFMC’s engineering excellence through technical publications Remain conversant with the latest industry developments. Traveling to RP&IT centres in Westhill and Paris as required by the PMM Technical manager. For the Principal Engineers who are working in Paris office, it is required to have a regular travel to Westhill Site of TechnipFMC at least quarterly per year. This will be arranged by PMM technical manager. Lead review during tender to ensure that Client specific requirements are fully captured in the final technical requirements issued to the Supplier (where beyond the standard requirements defined by TechnipFMC in the Group Procurement Specification and datasheet) Perform technical assessment to ensure correct material selection for project, including scopes for pipe, forgings, fittings and bends Witnessing testing at subcontractors (including factory/fabrication tests, bend test, corrosion tests) and attend project PPM/Clarification meetings Effectively manage on-going R&D tasks that have been allocated by the PMM Technical Manager to ensure they are completed to forecast schedule and budget, leading the input from junior team members where allocated to the assigned scope of work Preparing Group Procurement Specifications and product governance documents, including the management of the Steering Group review process prior to issuing new group standards
You are meant for this job if: Knowledge of SURF systems, particularly related to pipeline materials / manufacturing technologies Expert in the pipeline material selection, manufacturing and installation Vast amount of experience in Oil and Gas Industries Minimum MEng/MSc degree in Materials, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, with a strong focus on metallurgy and/or manufacturing processes
