As an R&D Hardware Architect you are responsible for: Understanding customer requirements and system design, challenge them and focus on ENG4 and ENG5 design for series produced mobile robots (AGV’s) Divergent ideation and convergent concept selection through verification and trade-offs Defining and documenting the component requirements (ENG4) for automation sub-systems The hardware architecture (ENG5) of products and modules integrated with the software architecture, translating the “what” into the “how” for mechatronics Planning, documenting and refining for the development during the project in the mechatronics team you’re in (ENG4/5/6) Stakeholder and peer reviews, adapting planning and design based on multidisciplinary feedback Cooperation with the systems engineering team (ENG2/3) and the integration team (ENG7) Interaction with the procurement and quality department for supplier awarding and sourcing Working with colleagues internationally, collaboration with the systems and software architects next to close cooperation in the mechatronics team
Does this match your skillset? Master or Bachelor with relevant experience (electrical, electronics, mechanical, product development, product requirements or similar) Structured engineer with a hardware and controls focus A knack for following the latest technology, materials, components, sensors, network/bus systems, IoT,… Knowledge of embedded software is a plus AGV experience and functional safety knowledge is a plus
