Translational Genomics at AstraZeneca in Gothenburg, Sweden , are expanding and have an exciting opportunity for an Senior Research Scientist to be part of the Preclinical In Vivo Models team . The position is available for a highly motivated molecular and cell biologist with extensive experience and knowledge in the design and generation of DNA based constructs using a wide range of cloning techniques and their application for in vivo science & technology.

What you’ll do:
You are an expert in the area of molecular and cell biology, experienced in a variety of cloning techniques used for the generation of complex DNA constructs and their application in the development of advanced transgenic models. You will devise, champion and develop scientific areas aligned with therapeutic project needs and be an authority in the area of molecular and cell biology and precise genome editing. Use both established and the latest techniques to lead in vivo model generation projects, from a lab-based perspective, to make significant contributions to the practical delivery of AstraZeneca project goals across a range of therapeutic areas.
You will also provide disciplinary scientific leadership and represent the Transgenic Model group at internal interdisciplinary meetings to providing expert advice to aid interpretation of data related to in vivo models.
Essential in this role:
This role requires proven expertise in molecular and cell biology together with a scientific drive. We also see that you have a Ph.D. degree or corresponding experience in a relevant scientific field or, alternatively, a first degree and relevant experience. As well as: Molecular biology expertise with extensive DNA cloning experience. Experience of working with Bacterial Homologous Recombination, Gibson assembly and Gateway cloning. Experience of working with cell culture. Experienced in confirmation assays of genetic manipulation. Working knowledge of the latest precise genome engineering tools such as CRISPR. Demonstrated experience in the generation of scientific presentations and manuscripts for publication.
