We sell marine products and services to globally trading vessels in 70+ countries, through 50+ legal entities in all corners of the world. The end-users of our products (the vessels) move from one part of the world to another within the span of weeks and expect to get a fully integrated and seamless customer service wherever they are. This a fundamental aspect of our business, and it requires WSS to operate a truly global (not just multi-national) business model, in which products and tasks are distributed throughout our global marine supply system.
As our new TSBDM your mission will be to grow lubricant and oil sales across your designated area and customer portfolio. You will seek out new opportunities from new customers and actively discover growth opportunities with existing customers. You’ll be working closely with Account Managers and Customer Service and be the number one driving force for increased lubricants and oils account sales across the portfolio.
Collaboration is key to success in this role, you shall work hand -in-hand with the Sales Manager and Account Managers (AMs) to develop agreed budgets for targeted customers. You will review, comment and challenge AMs on opportunities in Salesforce, or lack thereof, by utilizing tools such as Betty, Global Sales Focus Plan, Sales Activity Plans (SAPs) and other internal and external intelligence. You’ll work closely with various functional teams and customers to develop new products, services, and solutions.
You will be responsible for:
Driving profitable sales growth for existing and new customers within your portfolio
Define target lists, driving face to face activity and spread best practice lubricant and oils sales approach
Build the sales pipeline and close deals to hit agreed targets
Ensure opportunity progression in sales pipeline and conversion to account sales
Work closely with AMs and Kluber resources ensuring best practice and technically adequate sales approach with sales team on lubricants and oils
Leverage one’s technical competence to drive meaningful sales activities, sell and close customer deals in alignment with AMs and SMs
Active pipeline management ensuring focus on the right customers, the right opportunities and to define customer facing activity
Ensure accurate and updated information on lubricant and oil opportunities in WSS CRM
Hold the highest level of technical and practical understanding of lubricant and oil products within sales org. and apply this competency for commercial and customer facing purposes
To report on performance, corrective actions and product selection/offer on a regular basis to Product Management
Closely collaborate with key stakeholders to develop sales material and challenger methodology presentations for customers
Proactively seek out the latest technical and market intelligence on products and services
Present and promote WSS products and services at conferences and customer events
Set the standard for the sales team by holding the highest level of technical and practical understanding and uphold a ‘can do’ forward leaning approach to growth activities, customer contact and deal closing
Who you will work with:
You will report to the Head of Sales for Marine Lubricants. You will collaborate closely with Sales Managers, Account Managers, Key Account Managers, Sales Support, Customer Services, Products & Planning Team.
What you need to succeed in the role:
Education in engineering/technical studies on products/services related to marine lubricants
4-5 years of technical experience from the maritime industry, preferably worked on-board a vessel.
Minimum 2 years direct sales experience
Excellent communication and presentation skills and ability to communicate effectively within a multinational environment
Fluent English - both writing and speaking
