: Leading the local medical strategy, plans and its execution for Respiratory & immunology (R & I) TA across NEMAG countries. Responsible for setting R & I Medical Strategies & Plans aiming at disseminating latest scientific evidence and improving patients’ lives in the TAs in different NEMAG Countries in alignment with Global / International TA strategies as applicable. Responsible as well about effective & timely execution of these plans. Uses scientific expertise to contribute to the marketing direction of the brands in the TA. Is recognized as a medical expert within the marketing company (MC) and will often guide and mentor more junior Medical Affairs colleagues. Enables R & I Medical Affairs team to establish scientific leadership of AstraZeneca and build professional relationships with Key External Experts within the TA. Acts as a leader and manager to MAs/MSLs providing coaching, support, trainings and implementing internal standards and processes. Works closely with the TA commercial teams in countries across NEMAG cluster including sales teams. Key Areas of Responsibility: Provide senior leadership, R & I medical team operational management and take overall accountability for all therapy area / brands related medical, scientific and clinical research activities. Work cross-functionally with other departments to develop aligned strategic R & I TA/ products plans for the optimal dissemination of scientific evidence by the team in pre and post product launch phases in accordance to local health authority guidelines. Drive impactful R & I Medical Affairs projects & activities in collaboration with local Medical societies / KEEs, disseminate latest scientific narratives to key external experts with ownership for exceeding customers’ needs and expectations across the therapeutic area. Pursue our commitment to excel and impact in what we do and in support of improving outcomes in R & I Therapy area Provide broad and deep understanding of the therapeutic area cross-functionally. Seen as credible expert by internal and external customers. Organize and deliver education and training to employees within the sales and marketing function to ensure their knowledge is kept up to date Ensure R & I Medical Affairs team members performance plans (including MAs/ MSLs Plans) are effective at supporting TA goals and objectives and are effective at engaging KEEs optimally. Ensure Country R & I Medical Affairs plans are effective at achieving TA Country goals; Oversee and support Country Medical staff in their execution of TA/ Brand Medical plans. Oversees the launch of new clinical trials/Medical research projects or market access projects. Oversee all local medical, scientific & clinical research contributions to Global, International and / or MEA therapy area related projects as deemed necessary. Ensuring all outgoing materials are scientifically and medically accurate. Share insights with relevant stakeholders within organization in a timely and consistent manner. Responsible for managing R & I Medical budget across NEMAG Countries. Manages a team that ensures all brand materials for a specific therapy area are kept up to date and accurate. Ensures that all branding work is carried out in accordance with AstraZeneca standards and external regulation . People management & Team Development is a core responsibility, including ensuring optimal team structure. Governance and ensuring overall adherence to processes and regulation [include but not limit to patient safety, clinical trials, promotional activities, educational activities, etc. Minimum Criteria and Competencies Advanced scientific degree Bachelor, Diploma, Master Degree or PhD in a life science, with clinical knowledge of assigned therapeutic area. Physician/Doctor degree is an addition/preferred education. Extensive experience of Medical Affairs function within a pharmaceutical industry. Medical Affairs Filed Experience.
